What types of scholarships exist?
There is a wide range of scholarships offered to student-athletes. Scholarships can be full or partial. Some are academic and some athletic, as well as a combination of both can be possible.

What does a scholarship fund?
Generally, scholarships cover enrollment, accommodation and study supplies such as books. The percentage of coverage depends on the scholarship given to each student.

Which exams are required to be submitted to a university under an athletic scholarship and what are the required scores?
There are three exams and the score needed to apply for the scholarships depends on the University requirements. The exams are the American College Test ( ACT ), the Suit of Assessments ( SAT ) and the Test of English as a Foreign Language ( TOEFL ). Being the last one only required for the people whose native language it’s not English. The ACT consist on of four exams: English, Math, Reading and Science. The results of each section (ranging from 1 to 36) is determined after discarding the incorrect answers, therefore, only the correct answers matters to the score. The SAT includes two main sections: Reading & Writing and Math. Each section receives a score on the scale of 200-800. Total scores are calculated by adding the results of each. TOEFL assess the ability to use and understand English in an academic field. It is an admission requirement for non-native speakers of English and, therefore, can be done worldwide. Nowadays it is very common to sit for the online exam at its iBT version. It is rated on a scale of 0 to 120 points and consists of four main sections: Writing, Reading, Listening and Speaking. Each subject receives a score from 0 to 30. Each score of the four sections are added together to determine the total score.

At what age is it recommended to begin the scholarship process?
We recommend starting the scholarship process at the age of 15 or 16. First, because we believe it is better to familiarize yourself with the rules, exams and forms as soon as possible. Second, the sooner you get to know the universities and coaches involved in the program, further the information you have to decide. Also, it is desirable along the process to exchange documentation between coaches and players.

College coaches are looking for athletes who can succeed in the sports program. They want talented and hard working young people that get to results, have a great academic record, are motivated and determined, and have the discipline that it takes to to achieve a degree as a student-athlete.

Did you know that you will be able to fulfill your dream of studying at an American university and still gather with your family?
Students and their families are allowed to travel twice a year to see each other. Students have a recess from last days of May till first days of August and also during winter holidays season in December so they -or their families- can travel during that days.
